This trip focused their discussion on learning to balance life - work, faith, and family. The trip included 9 men, some of which denied any faith. The weekend opened them up to re-ignite the faith they had early in their life. The men did enjoy time on the water and their fish fry dinner.
Another first event of it's kind for Relate Ministries included 12 attendees including 6 children. The trip included paddling 19 miles of the upper Brazos River. The group spent 2 nights of primitive camping along the river. Everyone learned to work together and be patient with others. They focused on being like Christ in all circumstances.
This first event of it's kind for Relate Ministries included 7 men and 16 children. The group spent time learning gun safety, hunting safety, and learning about processing their animals. During the middle of the day, the attendees spent time learning about leadership and how to follow a leader. Growth was seen in relationships between children and adults, but more importantly between attendees and their Lord.
Another wonderful trip to the marsh. Eleven men joined together to watch the sunrise, hunt water fowl and create relationships. Six of the men have not attended a Relate trip, and had a weak or nonexistent faith. The men had a great weekend and created relationships that have continued to grow.
There were 8 men and young adult sons that made their way to Kenai, Alaska for Salmon and Halibut fishing. They men spent each evening reviewing four spiritual disciplines from Richard Foster's Celebration of Disciplines.
Wow! This trip included 12 registered people including 5 children. The group was joined by a another 10 people that have met Mike in years past in this area for camping enjoyment. The group spent time on dirt bikes, ATVs, hiking, and white water rafting. The campfire discussions were fruitful and created many opportunities for discussion about God.
Beginning the second year of Relate Ministires, we realized a need for a topic focus for each event. Matt Snyder lead discussion based on apologetics and learning how to defend one's faith. The 10 men, including new believers and young adult men had a great time on the coastal waters fishing during the day before enjoying a fish fry dinner.
Spring 2023 found 12 men, some with their young adult sons making their way to Seadrift, Texas. When not on the water, the men spent time discussing how idols affect their lives and more importantly how they affect their relationship with God.
The weekend included trophy hunting oryx in Sanderson, Texas. The attendees enjoyed time outdoors and the challenge of hunting the unique animals. The included men and a couple of father & son groups.
Another wonderful trip to the marsh. God created so many creatures with so much color and diversity. A great weekend to dig into scripture and to enjoy an amazing bag of ducks! The cool weather had many migratory birds down for the winter. The trip included 8 men some of who question faith in Christianity.
Adults talked; kids played; teens talked & played. We ate chili, smores, hobo pies, and desserts. We talked and shared memories - growing in RELATionships.
While this trip was smaller than the others during the first year, there was a lot of faith growth that happened in the midst of the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The size of the trip was perfect in size as the ministry learned much in planning and preparation for a week long trip.
The first formal trip of Relate Ministries included 8 men. The men spent time fishing on the Texas Gulf Coast. When they returned to the fish camp, they spent time cooking and enjoyed a fish fry. During this time discussions about faith were plentiful and casual.
Our first formal event invited family and friends to join us as we shared the mission and vision of the ministry. We had almost 100 people join us and prayerfully consider supporting the ministry.
Relate Ministries invited families to come together, eat, swim, and learn about the ministry in a casual environment. We met three times over the summer of 2022.
